For somewhere as well known in the area as Castlerigg stone circle is, that
actual location is surprisingly low key. The stones stand in little more
than a grass field about five minutes drive outside the town of Keswick
at the end of Derwent water. This is actually no bad thing as it means visitors
can walk amongst the stones, and touch them if they wish, in a way that
is unthinkable at Stonehenge.
