Welcome to David Stanley Photography...

I have been taking photographs 'seriously' for about 10 years now, concentrating mostly on landscapes. The portfolio you see here represents the most recent few years, but as with all forms of artistic expression it is a work in progress. The world is a big place so I don't expect I shall ever run out of new locations, and as I try new things and see new places no doubt my work will reflect these influences. For me this is one of the joys of photography, landscape photography in particular, for even locations that have been captured many times can be viewed in a different, personal, way. The seasons, the weather, even the time of day can have a dramatic impact on how a scene 'looks'. I have taken lots of pictures but I have no doubt that there are many more to take.

I plan to update the site as regularly as I can to provide you with new and interesting images as often as possible, so that, hopefully, next time you visit you will find something new.

Article of the week...

"There was a vogue a few years ago, which seemed to coincide with a general surge in the popularity of a certain maker of square filters, for using ever more outlandish combinations of filter effects. Often we would see a landscape buried under a brooding tobacco sky, pierced only by a seven-pointed starburst sun illuminating a curious coral pink foreground. Of course it would all be in soft focus, which more often than not was a blessing in disguise...."
